Reports have piled in of trucks being lit on fire due to strike action from truck drivers by the Mvoti and Mooi River toll plaza areas.

South African truck drivers are planning a total shutdown targeting routes between Durban and Pietermaritzburg including the N3.

They are attacking and torching “foreign” trucks similar to what had manifested at Mooi River toll plaza on the last day of 2018 easter weekend. They are complaining about foreign drivers taking their jobs.

They are organising this as South African truck drivers as many holiday makers will move in and out of the province on the 1st of May.

The Mvoti toll has been closed and all traffic has come to a standstill as of yesterday evening, police are on scene.
