Alleged drunk driver crashes into a group of scholars in KZN

A seven (7) year old girl had a piece of her scalp ripped off & an eleven (11) year old boy suffered extensive head injuries after a 25-year-old drunk driver drove over them on Quarry Road – Redcliffe a short while ago (Monday).

The scholars who are in Grade 5 & Grade 7 at Redcliffe Primary School were walking home when the driver lost control while driving a silver Toyota Etios & dragged the children for several meters. He was arrested on scene.

Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa stabilised both scholars and transported them to Osindisweni Government Hospital. They remain in a critical condition.

A third scholar who was walking alongside the two children while carrying an infant escaped injury.
