Tanker carrying sulfuric acid in accident at Mvoti Toll Plaza
A tanker carrying sulfuric acid has overturned near the Mvoti Toll plaza a few minutes ago. The tanker is on its side, leaking a large quantity of acid as we speak.
The N2 Southbound is affected by the accident and this area should be avoided until the scene has been cleared.
No injuries have been sustained in the accident, however, people that are being affected by the leaking sulfuric acid has been rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Sulfuric acid is a highly corrosive and dangerous acid that if inhaled can cause damage to the lungs. This acid is extremely pungent and dangerous to humans.
IPSS Medical Rescue is on the scene assisting patients.
