One man went missing and is presumed to have drowned after disappearing into the surf yesterday.

Three young men were swimming on Tuesday morning near Willard beach when one of the men went missing in the mid break.

Life guards and IPSS Medical Rescue responded by launching jet skis and sending out several life guards to search for the missing man. SAPS Search and Rescue were called in for assistance.

Unfortunately after several hours the man had still not been found and the search was called off. The search continues today.

“A big thank you to all the surfers who have assisted in the search,” said an IPSS spokesman.
