A seven year old child lost his life on Wednesday afternoon on the R102 near Stanger, after he was knocked over by taxi.

The scholar was pinned underneath the taxi after being dragged down an embankment.

Upon arrival of IPSS Paramedics, the boy was found to be in a critical and unstable condition.

Advanced life support interventions were initiated before the young boy was extricated from beneath the vehicle.

Shortly after he was freed from under the vehicle, the child went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics worked feverently in an attempt to resuscitate him for more than 40 minutes; Sadly he succumbed to his injuries.

The South African Police were in attendance and will investigate further.
